Details
What is Red Oxide Metal Primer used for?
Royaltec Red Oxide is a metal primer designed to protect iron and steel from rust and corrosion. It forms the undercoat beneath a compatible finish rather than serving as the final decorative coating.
Which surfaces are suitable?
Use it on iron and steel structures in residential, fabrication and industrial work, including surfaces exposed to humid, coastal or industrial conditions. The metal still needs inspection and suitable preparation before priming.
What should happen before and after primer?
Rust, loose coating, oil and contamination should be addressed using the preparation specified for the project. After priming, the approved compatible topcoat should be applied according to the product instructions and written scope.
Want our crews to apply it?
Red Oxide is the primer we specify on metal painting work, once the rust has been graded and taken back to sound metal across the affected area.
For brush and equipment cleaning, use the matching enamel thinner. Never thin a primer with whatever is open on site.
